VESA and Weight

VESA is the pattern of screw holes on the back of the TV, such as 400 x 400 mm. The mount must cover that pattern and be rated above the screen weight, with a margin for full-motion arms that lever away from the wall.

Wall Types in the UAE

Concrete and solid block take heavy screens with the right anchors. Hollow block needs anchors made for hollow walls. Gypsum partitions need fixing into the metal studs or a backing plate; very heavy screens may need a different wall or a floor stand.

Cables

Plan power and HDMI behind the screen. Where the wall can be opened we run cables inside it; otherwise slim trunking painted to match keeps the wall tidy.

Questions About TV Wall Mount Types and How to Choose

Which mount do most homes need?

A fixed or tilt mount suits most living rooms. Choose full-motion if you need to turn the screen.

What is VESA?

The standard screw-hole pattern on the back of a TV. The mount must match it.

Can you mount on glass or very thin walls?

Not on glass. For thin walls we look for structure behind, use a ceiling mount or a floor stand instead.
